Announcements


Past Time to Renew - Time is Running Out


All memberships renew June 1. We offer a generous grace period so that you have plenty of time to renew your memberships. Our goal is to support our members by offering educational opportunities; networking; and expanding our association. As our association grows so does our sphere of influence. More and more consumers and government workers recognize our association's benefit to the community. If you have not renewed yet, you still have time. After July 31, members who have not renewed, and not made arrangements to renew will be dropped from the membership roster and membership list. We don't want to lose you!

Online Courses

Until the end of July 2013. Register for one course, and choose a second course for free. After you register for your first course, email us at staff@faldp.org with MY FREE COURSE in the subject line, and tell us the course you want for free. The free course must be of equal or lesser value to the paid course. Learn new information, expand your horizons, and increase your income! We now have six courses to choose from.


Webinars


We had planned two webinars for July, but have decided we must postpone them. We know that many of you are in and out of town over the summer enjoying R&R, vacations, and family time. Good for you, and we are too. However in August, we all begin to get back to business, send the children back to school, and wind up the summer. We are scheduling the next webinar for Saturday, August 17. This August Webinar will be a quarterly UPL Summit. All members and document preparer friends around the country will receive an invitation via email. Please keep a lookout for your Webinar invitation the week prior to August 17. It will be sent from the webinar site - anymeeting.com.

We also have a Webinar series planned called Pro Se Boot Camp. This will include several sections to include varied information for pro se litigants to help them learn how to handle their legal matters themselves. Start date to be announced. Our target audience is pro se litigants, and we encourage you to invite any of your customers that you feel might benefit from the information offered. We will be charging consumers a small fee to attend. We plan to share the collected fees with document preparers who help us promote and invite consumers to attend our Pro Se Boot Camp Series. Details to come.

Designation Badges


As you may have noticed we have developed several designation badges that appear on your Mini-Page. The badges coincide with the document preparation services you advertise -- Family Matters, Bankruptcy Help, Landlord/Tenant, Bankruptcy Help, Mediation, Estate Planning, Probate, Immigration, and Translation. These icons are placed on members' Mini-Pages and linked to a page listing document preparers who prepare each type of document. Members do not necessarily need to have completed one of our courses to display the designation badges. You simply must be proficient at preparing those legal documents. We are in the process of developing a few of the pages that we lack. If you offer services which are not represented by an icon on your Mini-Page, please let us know so that we can adjust your listing.

New Member Handbook


We have updated our Member Handbook to reflect current policies. Nothing substantial has changed, except that we no long offer Basic Membership. We will be adding new types of membership later this year, so for the time being, all memberships are Premium. The purpose of the Member Handbook is so that members can have member information all in one place, instead of having to look through several web pages to find information. Fourth Annual FALDP Conference

The date is set – September 21, 2013. The place is Cedar Key in the meeting room of the historic library. More details:

Get Ready - September 21, 2013 in lovely Cedar Key, Florida. Cedar Key is on the Gulf Coast, at approximately the same latitude as Ocala. We are holding our meeting in the Historic Cedar Key Library Meeting Room. There is space for 80, attending members are invited to bring a guest at no additional charge. Hours are 9-5.

9:00 - Meet & Greet. Director, Ruth Tick will introduce the day, herself, and ask each member to introduce him or herself.

    We accept member's announcements and appreciate your contributions. If you have an announcement about your business, an expansion of services, moving your offices, or winning awards, please send us the information and we'll include it in our newsletter. Your announcement needs to be pertinent to your business, we are unable to include announcements about other trade associations, clubs or groups.
