answering Supplemental Petition
by: Gary Tinsley

To answer a supplemental petition you go line by line and state whether you admit the allegations in that line, deny them or have no knowledge about them. You can admit, deny or state no knowledge in part as well. For example:

1. I admit the allegations in line one of the supplemental petition.

2. I deny the allegations in line two of the supplemental petition.

3. I have no knowledge as to the allegations in line 3 of the supplemental petition.

4. I admit (insert what you agree with) and deny (insert what you deny) in line 4 of the supplemental petition.

and so on.

You also must state any affirmative defenses you have to the allegations in the supplemental petitions in separate paragraphs at the end. You file the answer with the court and mail or deliver a copy to the petitioner or their attorney.

Preparing answers is a service that I provide. You can contact me at 386-383-4595. Gary Tinsley
