Firstly, child support has nothing to do with your visitation. How much or how little you visit with your children does not increase or decrease your child support obligation. Second, child support in the state of Florida is determined by a child support guideline based on a percentage on each parents ability to pay. Be sure you answer his petition, include an updated financial affidavit which will reflect your income and expenses. Appear at the hearing! You can speak for yourself. You cannot pay what you do not have. Good luck!
