We are trying to promote our service through this program. When members serve as Ambassadors, they gain the extra credibility that our association provides, while promoting their own document preparation services.

        Ladders, Bridges, and Webs

Traditionally, the popular metaphor for success has always been - climbing the ladder. As our world changes in so many dramatic ways every day, I search for new mental images that better explain the here and now. Bridges. Lateral movement, not necessarily upward movement. A bridge connects. A bridge connects an island to the mainland, or spans over a river.

We climb ladders on our own, but we build bridges through the power of connection.

        1. Always remember the bridge that brought you to where you are today.

Think of what barriers you crossed to get where you are now. Think of the connections you found or created that have been the catalyst to building your business and career.

        2. Create connections.

What if you reached the barrier the metaphorical river, did you turn around and go the other way? Or set about building a bridge? Did you build the bridge all by yourself, or enlist the aid of colleagues to make your way together across the river?

        3. Pave the way for others.

Did you destroy the bridge after you crossed, or leave it intact for others to follow? Did you share the news or keep the bridge for your own use?

Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect. ~ Chief Seattle, 1854 ~

        Become an Expert

At our most recent Webinar on October 11, one of the things we discussed to increase your business credibility and income is to become an expert. One way to position yourself as an expert is to write well researched and compelling articles. One of our members in Pinellas County, Suncoast Legal Solutions - Gayle Coffman took the suggestion to heart and wrote an article about Support Unconnected with Dissolution. Gayle is a long time paralegal, having worked for a family law attorney for most of her adult life, and her insight on a way to use the process for an elderly couple is something I had never thought of or heard of. The article is too long to reprint here, but you can read in full on the - FALDP blog. If you would like to contribute an article, please do. We are always looking for fresh content, and you will receive author's credit and a link back to your site.

        Reminders ...

Google Map - We have rebuilt the Google Map on the Member's Directory. The information for the Google Map should include your business name, phone, and email; a scan of your business card (if available), your logo, and a link to your website.

Please check your balloon and make sure all the information is correct. Julian, our own Gorilla Marketer, is the map builder. Please contact him via phone or email for corrections. Please take special note of the balloon for - we added Divorce Docs video to show you what we can do. Soon, we will be offering this to other members as an added advertising feature on our site. We can include YouTube Video and slide shows on our google map. There will be a small set up fee to embed your code if you have already created your own video or slide show. We can also create a slide show for you with the photos you provide. Members Photo Gallery is a work in progress on the Membership Directory. If your picture isn't there or if you have an updated photo, please send it. A passport style portrait is best, but we can crop if you need us to. Make sure that your answers are more than one line. A paragraph of at least three sentences is good. And, members are invited to include their contact information and website. If you have answered questions that were never posted, it may be because your answer was too short or did not include a source for your information.

        Asked and Answered
