Members and Friends
New members please remember to submit the information for the Member Directory as soon as you can. Premium Members are entitled to three listings - their home county, and two adjacent counties. We prefer a paragraph or two for the Member Directory -- the Meet the Members page is designed to accommodate more detailed information.
Third Annual Conference
We are solidifying our plans for our Third Annual Conference. This year it will be in historic St. Augustine, the weekend of September 22 & 23. This time our agenda is expanding to two days, with the second day dedicated to Business Expansion and Development. More details to come. Please mark your calendars.

Current members can renew for the following year at any time prior to June 1.
Current members who refer a new member receive a 50% rebate on their renewal.
Current members may renew with no penalty up until July 31.

Last month we reported that we had surpassed a milestone, well we've done it again. Site traffic last month - in a short month -- was over 125 uniques a day, and again over 7000 site visits for the month.
The following was printed in our February newsletter:
"Competition is healthy, below board practices are not. We have heard recently that some of our members craigslist ads are being flagged. It appears that the flagging is being done by another legal document preparer. I don't know yet whether the flagger is an FALDP member. But, if the flagger is a member its time to stop, the behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Many members advertise on craigslist, and although craigslist has its perils, it is overall a good no cost way to advertise services".
We have received comments from members throughout the state thanking us for the announcements about craigslist flagging. We continue to monitor the situation, and have heard from some areas of the state that the flagging may have subsided.
If anyone would like a list of free places to advertise, just ask. We have had especially good results from ebay classifieds and pennysaverusa.com.
We are still working hard to complete the Bankruptcy Chapter 7 course. It is still not quite ready. If you are interested in this course, please be patient. As soon as we get it ready for enrollment we will post that news on the Online Courses page and on the Member's Corner. We would rather delay the course launch than rush it through.
An Introductory course - Introduction to Florida Legal Document Preparation @ only $99. for preparing legal documents in Florida, and Preparing Florida Divorce Documents @ only $199. are open for registration.
Registration is open for the Intro course, and the Divorce course. The courses are geared toward legal document preparers who are new to the industry; new to Florida; or legal document preparers who want to expand their knowledge base. For LDP's new to the industry, or new to Florida, the Intro course is a requirement and a prerequisite for enrollment in the Dissolution of Marriage course.
Your Feedback is Always Appreciated
If you have completed either of our courses and have suggestions we would love to hear from you. We need to know how we're doing. Too difficult? Too easy?

Don't forget that we publish Self Help Legal Guides. These are useful tools to provide to customers as loss leaders or to help educate consumers. Some consumers are perfectly able to prepare their own documents and all they need is to do their research and educate themselves thoroughly. Please visit our

Meet the Members
The “Meet the Members” page on our site is nearly finished. If we don't have a photo of you please send one so that we can post it next to your information. We can also post your business card if you like. I recently learned that the suggestion for this page came from none other than my assistant/ LDP, Julian Beyer. The
Meet the Members
page is coming along beautifully. The Member Directory was not set up to accommodate pictures or graphics -- and this is.
Thank you for answering the "Ask FALDP" questions. Please continue to post your answers. As some of you may have noticed, not every answer makes it through the moderator -- and here's why. You are more than welcome to include a link to your site, and your phone number, even your street address at the end of your answer. And anyone who knows the answer is invited to respond. But, we need you to include a source of authority for every answer you post. You don't necessarily need to give the Statute number or case law, but you do need to include at minimum a website where you found the information. Please don't cite wikipedia. Answers like:
"I can help you with that, call me - xxx-xxxx" will not make it past the moderator. Let's put a little meat on those bones, and include a source. We want to make our site better than all the other Q & A sites out there.
Member's Announcements & Contributions
We accept member's announcements and appreciate your contributions. If you have an announcement about your business, an expansion of services, moving your offices, or winning awards, please send us the information and we'll include it in our newsletter. Your announcement needs to be pertinent to your business, we are unable to include announcements about other trade associations, clubs or groups.
If you would like to write an article, editorial, opinion piece, or web page please let us know. We are always in need of fresh information and insights.
