Qualifying for Civil Indigent Status
by: Judith Byrd

As the other person who responded stated, the Court is the place that determines if you qualify. However there is one directive that doesn't work in my County. Although the questions are identical, here they do not accept the online Application form. To apply in Highlands County, a person has to complete the County's own version of the form, so when you decide to do this, be sure to ask at your local Clerk's office if they have a form of their own. No point in doubling your work for nothing. There is no charge for the forms.

Eligibility for Indigent Status

Hi Barton,
Civil indigent status is a determination made by the clerk of court. To apply, you submit a form called = an Application for Determination of Civil Indigent Status - when you file your court documents. You can find that form along with the income guidelines on our site - here:
