Homestead Exemption - Declaration of Domicile by: FALDP Staff
Dear St. Augustine, In order to prove that you actually reside in your house so that you can claim homestead exemption, all that you usually need is a driver's license and utility bills displaying that address. Sometimes, however, the Declaration of Domicile is required if the proof of residence is questioned or not sufficient. The clerks of court have the Declaration of Domicile form. Some of the counties offer that form as a free download. If you email us directly, we'll send you a form to use as a template.
