Dear Jake, We don't understand why people in your situation are required to file a financial affidavit. Many people feel it is intrusive for the government to require a financial affidavit when there is no dispute over money or property. However, those are the rules.
The long form is for people with annual income over $50,000 per year; and the short form is for people who earn less.
