Notice of Exceptions to General Magistrate's Recommendation

It is called a Notice of Exceptions to General Magistrate's Recommendation. General Magistrate's are usually not judges, and so they only make the recommendation to the judge. The judge usually signs the magistrate's recommendation because the magistrate was present at the hearing and the judge was not. The judge usually simply relies on the magistrate's recommendation unless someone files a Notice of Exceptions. The Notice of Exceptions is supposed to be filed within 10 days from the date the magistrate issues the recommendation. A transcript of the proceeding is also supposed to be filed along with the Notice of Exceptions. Look on this site for more information:
