Despite what the clerk of court has told you, if you are a Florida resident and can prove it through documentation, (a copy of a Florida driver's license should be sufficient) you should not need to file an Affidavit of Corroborating Witness. Sometimes court clerks can be overly officious, the easiest thing to do is to go along with them if you can. Some of the court packets have the Affidavit of Corroborating Witness, and the court clerk may believe that since it is there, it must be filed. The Florida rule about residency when filing a Florida divorce is that at least one of the parties must be a Florida resident, and resided in Florida for at least six months prior to filing for divorce.
